No Lock, No Problem - Let Us Help!

Does your furniture have a punch out hole? We can help & provide you with everything needed!

If there is a punch out hole, and a locking arm on the inside of your furniture, the first step is to determine the manufacturer. The manufacturer label is typically located on an outside corner, the underside of the top shelf, a drawer, or on the locking mechanism.

If the manufacturer is HON, we recommend our FC-10 lock. This lock can be used in Hon furniture that has a round punch out and an internal locking bar. If the punch out hole is oval, just add the FC26-AR adapter ring – this will convert the FC-10 to fit the oval punch out.

If the furniture is any other manufacturer, we recommend ABUS file locking bars. The locking bars are a more economical solution compared to a turn or push-in style locking mechanism. ABUS file locking bars are constructed of 16-gauge steel, are reversible for left or right side mounting, and available in five different lengths. Mounting screws and 3/32” drill bit included.

Mix It Up with EasyKeys

Did you know lock cores can be changed? Lock cores are the cylinders that fit into the lock mechanism and is where the key is inserted. Specific to each manufacturer and lock code, lock cores can be “keyed alike” or “keyed differently.” Keyed alike means that the locks will all operate using the same key – these lock cores have the same manufacturer and lock code. Keyed differently means the locks will operate using different keys. Check out all of our available lock cores here!

If you would like to make life easier (and who doesn’t?), the lock cores can be switched out to use the same key – as long as the lock cores are within the same manufacturer and series.

Changing lock cores brings us to control keys. Control keys are keys required for the removal and installation of lock cores. This key does not lock or unlock the lock. Control keys can also be known as pull key, change key, and core removal tool. Find the control key for your specific manufacturer and series here!

Sometimes lock codes can be difficult to read. A handy tool to make it easier is the EasyKeys Magnifying Card Light. This magnifying glass includes a light as well as a small ink pen. No matter the location, our card light will brighten and magnify the lock code. Small enough to carry in your pocket or purse, this tool can be used anywhere – even for restaurant menus!
